LOL Movie Story :
In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes, and Facebook, Lola and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola's mom, Anne, "accidentally" reads her teenage daughter's racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown. LOL began production on July 16, 2010, later finishing filming and beginning post-production on September 14, 2010. It was filmed primarily at Grosse Pointe South High School in the city of Grosse Pointe, a wealthy community on the east side of Detroit, Michigan, and required a year and two weeks of post production before it was completed on November 1, 2011. In January 2012, the first trailer for the film was released, and days later, a poster was designed and printed for it.

On February 10, 2012, the film was released for the first time in India, and later, on March 1, 2012, in Singapore. Later, it was announced that the film would have a limited release on May 4, 2012 in the United States. The film, the announcement went on, would be released as Lola in Brazil, LOL(Summer. Classmates. Love) in Russia, LOL: Laugh Out Loud in Singapore, and Casi 18: LOL (Almost 18: LOLin Latin America. Three different trailers were released for the movie: a British trailer, a German trailer, and an American trailer.

Did you know: Lisa Azuelos both wrote and directed the first incarnation, LOL (Laughing Out Loud) ®, the French film starring Sophie Marceau, after realizing that movies based on teen life in her home country of France were almost entirely missing.
